These methods are also very effective when working with fearful dogs. Using science based methods like desensitization and counter conditioning is great for fearful show dogs because it actually changes how they feel about the ring, the dog show environment and being touched by the judges. Instead of just forcing them to tolerate it, instead we can train them to feel comfortable and actually enjoy it.
